A Salute to Our Veterans

Do you know what Johnny Cash, Michael Kaplan, Yogi Berra, Casey Kasem, and Josephine Baker have in common? They were all veterans. Two of them worked in the intelligence business and one of them is a prominent Project Management Professional.
In the words of our chapter’s President (Quincy Chapman), “At the heart of one of the largest Program Management Offices (PMO) in the world, our brave servicemen and women are the unsung heroes of project management…From logistics to strategy, their expertise ensures mission success, even in the face of adversity.”
Since our nation’s founding the Armed Forces have protected and strengthened the United States and enabled it’s success. Over 1.2 million U.S. citizens living all over the world put on a uniform every day in a life lived under oath to support and defend the constitution against enemies, foreign and domestic. Veteran’s Day is on Saturday November 11th and we all have the opportunity to think about those who have served and are serving today. There are plenty of activities in the area you can participate in so I’ll share a couple here but check out Utah’s Department of Veterans and Military Affairs for more, there are a lot.
- Pacific Island Veterans Day Dinner, Sandy, 10 November at 5 PM
- Free Hot Dog Bar, Logan, 11 November, 10AM – 3 PM
- Washington City Veterans Day Celebration, 11AM Parade down Telegraph St, short program
- Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Free admission for veterans & immediate family, 11 November, valid ID required
- Veteran’s Park Program, Bountiful, 11 November 11AM – 2 PM
