submit an article or blog post

General Guidelines

These are the general guidelines for submitting articles and blogs for publication in the Friday Facts newsletter and on our website.  Once published, a blog post or article will remain on the site for a period of up to two years, at which point it will be archived.  Article and blog submissions must meet the following criteria:

  • Must focus on at least one side of the PMI Talent Triangle
    • Ways of Working - Whether it’s predictive, agile, design thinking, or new practices still to be developed, it's clear that there is more than one way that work gets done today. Share your techniques to help other PMI Professionals masters as many ways of working as they can.
    • Power Skills - These interpersonal skills include collaborative leadership, communication, an innovative mindset, for-purpose orientation, and empathy. Write about your techniques and perspectives on these issues to help other PMI Norther Utah members form productive teams.
    • Business Acumen - Professionals with business acumen understand the macro and micro influences in their organization and industry and have the function-specific or domain-specific knowledge to make good decisions. Help other chapter members cultivate effective decision-making and understand how their projects align with the big picture of broader organizational strategy and global trends.
  • If this is your original work, you must:
    • Include a brief author bio (this doesn't count towards your word count)
    • Develop a title that is no more than 40 characters
  • If this is not your original work, the original author and source must be cited
    • Repurposed content will be taken down at the original author's request
  • External links are allowed and subject to verification; please refrain from excessive external links
  • Summaries of longer works will be considered for publication, but our preference is for complete content, or enough discussion of ideas presented in the longer work that the summary provides original content
  • Promotion of items for purchase, subscription, or that otherwise require a financial commitment will not be accepted
